I've always been a big C.S. Lewis fan, so you'd think I'd be gung-ho about seeing the new Narnia movie. What gives me pause is all the protagonists are kids, and in modern Hollywood when all the main characters are children, almost invariably the adults are written as idiots lest they overshadow the kids. This is the example that immediately springs to mind, but there's many others, mostly summer films but not all.

But they are English children! Everyone knows English chldren who act do not suffer from terminal cuteness (see Freddie Highmore) like American acting children (see the Olsen twins).
