tagrynOver the Memorial Day weekend Donna and I went to visit the Kenilworth Aquatic Gardens near the Anacostia River in D.C. Amazing place, ponds upon ponds of water lilys and other aquatic plants, as well as number of other wildlife like geese and goslings, turtles, etc. I've uploaded a few pictures we took there. I'm particularly proud of the lotus blossom pictures and the one of the hawk.
We also visited the Basilica of the National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception. Very big and impressive. We happened upon it near the end of the annual ordination service, having had no idea this was happening that day, so it was pretty crowded but not oppressively so.
