* Added nine pictures to my flickr account. There's three in there of various fighter jet formations which came over our house this weekend en route to the Andrews airshow, a couple of flowers in our garden, one of our rain barrel frog, and a few cat pictures to boot. |
* Last Thursday/Friday I ran three training sessions at work for a software tool that I'm the workgroup coordinator of this year. The reviews were almost all 100% positive, with just a couple ideas for improvement as well. We'll see how much sunk in once they actually start using it, but I'm happy with how things went.
* This weekend, I managed to mow the front and back lawns, planted three geraniums in our vegetable garden, did three loads of laundry + 1 load of dishes, vacuumed the house, got a haircut, ran errands at the library and grocery store, and cleaned the guest bathroom for our visitors next weekend.
* I also learned how to burn ISO CD-image files to CDs using my computer, and I burned CD copies of Ubuntu LINUX, Puppy LINUX, and Command and Conquer Gold along the way. This was my first time using LINUX, and I can see the attraction: it has a sleek, easy-to-use interface, and everything seemed pretty intuitive. Unfortunately I couldn't get it to recognize our wireless network at all, so it'll probably remain for me what PCWorld magazine recommended: a good backup option if Windows ever crashes beyond recovery & I need to recover the files off my computer. C&C Gold was the top game in '95, and the publisher made it available for free last year on its 12th anniversary. It took some tweaking to get to run, being an old Windows95 game, but it was a lot of fun once I got it working.
