Aug. 15th, 2005 11:43 am- We had thunderstorms last night. Not damaging, just enough to give everything a good washdown & the plants a soaking. I'm grateful.
- Interesting article via Chester on how the old taboo about talking about World War II in Japan is mostly disappearing. Just in time, I think: in ten years or so most of the generation which fought in the war will be gone, and it is useful for future generations to hear firsthand how it really was.
- Fascinating animated GIF (7 MB) of whirlwinds on Mars taken by the Spirit rover, from the Planetary Society's weblog.
