NOLA: one other thing

Does anyone think we're going to see a proliferation of "NOPD" t-shirts, like NYPD and NYFD did after 9-11? I kinda doubt it, given the force's disintegration under extreme pressure. I don't think its reputation is going to fall as far as the LAPD did after not deploying during the Rodney King riots, but on the other hand the NOPD has been in bad repute for a long time before this, too.

OK, that was uncalled for, sorry. Hopefully the NOPD can rebuild around those extraordinary officers who have continued to do their jobs to the best of their ability, even when everything was falling apart around them, rather than the department's reputation being permanently tarnished by the ones who ran or turned looter. Those guys who are still serving deserve every bit of the tribute which was given to the 9-11 rescuers.
