Weekend update
Apr. 30th, 2006 08:09 pmEagles did very well in the draft, so I was pretty happy. Interesting psychology lesson on the boards talking about the players' picked: there's just some folks who are determined to be miserable, no matter how well things go.
I think my wife had a good time up in the mountains this weekend.
Sent out 4 job applications today. Hope to hear back from the Census recruiter tomorrow.
Picked up an assignment as a sub at one of the local high schools tomorrow teaching science. Always happy to get the work, and it sounds like the regular teacher has everything prepared already for me. I'll be curious to see if the planned immigration protest day tomorrow has any effect, with regards to either instructions given in the morning to teachers or students trying to leave class with the excuse "we're going to the protest." Given that I'm legally responsible for every student in the class once they show up, and since there's no way of confirming that they're not just using it as a reason to skip out on class, there's no way I can allow that tomorrow. It's my job (or worse) on the line if something happens to them when they're supposed to be in class.
