Dec. 26th, 2006 05:46 pmWell, we received further confirmation that my brother-in-law is likely at least marginally bipolar. After a rambling email last week that ranted on and on about how we'd ruined his life, bringing up what he saw as an ongoing persecution of him by us over the past decade-plus, today we received back the Christmas presents we'd sent to his children, marked "recipient refused delivery." Apparently he now considers depriving his kids as acceptable behavior if he thinks it will make us hurt as well, something I hadn't thought him capable of before.
Disturbing. I'm glad we're living on the opposite coast from him now. He said in his email that he looked forward to never hearing from us again, but given how much of a focus we seem to have become for him, I'm not sure he's capable of just letting things go.
