Rye <> HFCS
Sep. 30th, 2008 11:48 amAs a tip, if you're trying to reduce the amount of high-fructose corn syrup in your diet, one source which is easy to forget is in bread. As it turns out, finding non-HFCS bread is fairly difficult to do; even many multi-grain breads have it.
One solution we found is to switch to rye bread. You still have to check the ingredients list to be sure, but most rye bread varieties don't seem to use HFCS, and rye is common enough to be carried by even chain supermarkets.
