I find that Gerard's most powerful essays are the ones he writes from personal experience. Like these.
"The Wedding Vows" - a 1960s Aquarian wedding, and reflections on marriage
"Both Sides Now" - more reflections on the Age of Aquarius (60s-70s)
"He Wasn't In His Right Mind" - mental states, & Grace.
"The Man Who Loved Not Wisely But At Least Twice"
"The Man Who Carried the Dark Lantern" - a dark night of the soul.
and more lightheartedly, "Just what is the world's finest chocolate chip cookie?" - the Holy Cookie
