A few quick observations:
- collecting data on religion is always tricky. The Census doesn't do it for church-state separation reasons, so it falls to private organizations and researchers to take up the slack.
- There's apparently an enclave of Quakers in SW Idaho, as well as SE Colorado and NW Alaska. Who knew?
- Strong Episcopalian presence in S. Dakota and Alaska.
- I was aware of the Dearborn Muslim enclave. Near Toledo, OH also? Yes. In fact, on the road from Bowling Green to Toledo, off to the right just outside Toledo can be seen a rather large mosque which is made all the more imposing because of the flatness of the surrounding landscape. Also: proportionally large Muslim concentration outside Wash. D.C.
- Baptists strong in the South. No surprise there.
- Outside of Texas and S. Louisiana, being a Catholic in the South is a lonely proposition, proportionally speaking.
