Birthday!

I should say that my birthday was wonderful. Donna baked a great banana cake, and the presents were terrific! I got a guide to Civil War battlefields from my Dad, which shows what each one looked like at the time & what they look like today - should be very useful as we explore the ones nearby, of which there are many. Donna got me the complete Season One DVD set to HBO's "Rome", which we both enjoyed a lot when it was on. Season Two starts in a couple of weeks, and we'll probably be resubscribing to HBO for that alone. All in all, pretty relaxing.

I'm going into work today, then am off until next Tuesday. We're having friends from California into town tomorrow, so that'll give us a good opportunity to spend time with them and show them the town.

Don't forget the banana-chocolate frosting! PS next year remind me to bake the cake a day ahead as it's 10x better today (shut up, I had a little bit when cutting the pieces to give to your parents).
