So I'm guessing by the standards of the Stop Snitchin' movement, the video clerk who turned in the Fort Dix terror plotters is the real bad guy?

It also turns out that the clerk is eligible for being sued by the suspects for violating constitutional rights or racial discrimination, similar to the passengers on US Airways Flight 300 who reported what they saw as suspicious activity by a group of imams. I wonder if these are basically SLAPP suits, and as my Mom says, "you can sue for anything, its winning that's the hard part."

It's pretty clear that the Flight 300 thing was just simple prejudice and paranoia. And stupidity, since, why would anyone go out of their way to look different and threatening if they planned to actually blow up a plane?

I find the response to the phrase "islamic militants" to be interesting - the same phrasing was used referring to terrorists in Ireland, "catholic militants" being not specifically IRA.

It does, however, introduce a bias. But the response is for moderate and liberal Muslims to become active as well. "Islamic peacemakers" would be just as prevalent, if they were working as hard to reclaim their faith from the fanatics.
