couple of weekend notes
Nov. 25th, 2007 10:28 pm* Finally bit the bullet and moved from IE7 to Firefox. My main reasons for holding off until now had been two add-on programs I use a fair amount, Roboform and Internet Macros. However, in the time since I last looked at switching, both programs have greatly enhanced their compatability with Firefox, so that was no longer an issue. The interface with Firefox takes some getting used to, but with one exception - when saving a web page, sometimes Firefox uses the HTML file name rather than the page title, an annoyance - I like what Firefox offers, especially in terms of extensions (getting Image Toolbar back after Microsoft eliminated it in IE7 was a pleasant surprise, for example). I also was a Netscape loyalist for a long time back when IE was dominant before finally switching, so it felt good to switch back to a Mozilla product again
* Mostly a quiet weekend. We starting putting up the Christmas lights today. I also spent over an hour leaf blowing, which was a mistake: the blower has a particular vibration/harmonic which had both my hands feeling like they were bouncing up and down on a trampoline. That subsided after about a half-hour, but I really need to do either the front or back yard, but not both, in a day.
