Garrison Keillor slams the POW/MIA biker tribute Rolling Thunder. Elitism and ignorance, combined in one article. The comments section on that pretty much take him apart.

You know, for a man who has built practically his entire career of creating a fake community, he has a hard time recognizing what is a real life community of people, coming together for a specific purpose: to honor those who gave us the ultimate sacrifice so that we may enjoy looking at Impressionist paintings on a beautiful Sunday afternoon. He's obviously woefully ignorant of the fact that most of these bikers, or as he liked to put it "fat men in ponytails", are former military themselves.

I wonder if he characterizes the Freedom Riders in the same derogatory vein.
