Cherry Blossoms

Donna and I drove downtown on Sunday to look at the cherry blossoms. We went out to Hains Point, where there's actually more cherry trees than at the more-popular Tidal Basin in DC, but unfortunately the trees at Hains Point weren't quite in full bloom yet.

Unfortunately, on our way home we got turned around and ended up going by the Tidal Basin right at peak crowd time. However, we did get this neat shot from the car, which shows how dramatic the blooms can be. Next year, we know to just take the Metro downtown, not just for the crowds but also because most of the parking garages in downtown DC are closed on the weekend.
